Privacy Policy

Greg the Chemical Guy ("we," "us," or "our") sells janitorial and sanitation products and provides related training to businesses, schools, churches, healthcare practices, and government agencies, primarily in North Texas. This policy explains what information we collect through gregthechemicalguy.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

We have written this in plain language. If anything here is unclear, call or email us using the details at the end and we will explain it.

1. The short version

We collect the contact and facility information you give us when you request a quote, book training, or contact us — plus basic technical data about how the Site is used.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not use it for profiling.
We use it to prepare quotes, deliver products, schedule training, send safety data sheets, and stay in touch about your account.
We are a business-to-business supplier. Most of the information we handle belongs to people acting on behalf of an employer or a government agency, not in a personal capacity.
You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and unsubscribe at any time.

2. Who this policy covers

This Site is intended for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. It is not directed to consumers shopping for household products, and it is not directed to children.

If you submit information through this Site on behalf of your employer, you are acting in a commercial or employment context. That distinction matters legally: Texas's privacy statute defines a "consumer" as an individual acting only in an individual or household context and expressly excludes individuals acting in a commercial or employment capacity. We nonetheless apply the practices described below to everyone who contacts us, because we would rather hold one clear standard than sort people into categories.

3. What we collect

Information you give us

When you request a quote, book a walkthrough or training session, download a cleaning schedule, or contact us, we may collect:

Your name and job title
Your organization's name and type (childcare center, school district, church, gym, medical or dental practice, municipal facility, or other)
Business email address, phone number, and mailing or delivery address
Facility details you choose to share — square footage, number of rooms, surface types, current products, licensing or accreditation status, and similar operational information
The products or starter programs you add to a quote, and quantities
Purchase order numbers, tax exemption certificates, and vendor onboarding documents, where applicable
Anything else you write in a message or notes field

We ask for the minimum needed to quote accurately and deliver correctly. Please do not send us Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or other sensitive personal information through the Site's forms. We do not need it, and the forms are not built for it.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we or our service providers may collect:

IP address and approximate general location (city or region level)
Browser type, device type, and operating system
Pages viewed, time on page, referring page, and links clicked
Date and time of visit

We use this to understand which pages are useful, to fix problems, and to keep the Site secure. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from this data.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function, including remembering the products you have added to a quote so the list survives page navigation. These cannot be turned off without breaking the Site.
Analytics — aggregate measurement of Site traffic and page performance.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the quote builder from working.

Global Privacy Control and similar signals. If your browser or an extension sends an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale of personal data or targeted advertising. Because we do not engage in either practice, honoring the signal does not change how we handle your information — but we recognize it.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

Prepare, send, and follow up on quotes
Process orders, arrange delivery, and handle returns or credits
Deliver safety data sheets with your initial shipment of each product and again whenever the manufacturer issues an updated sheet, as required of distributors under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, 29 C.F.R. §1910.1200(g)(7)
Provide the workplace chemical lists, secondary container labels, and documentation we offer to customers
Schedule and deliver on-site training, and keep attendance records for that training
Respond to your questions and provide customer support
Send product, regulatory, and service updates relevant to your account
Maintain records required for tax, warranty, product traceability, and regulatory purposes
Detect and prevent fraud, secure the Site, and enforce our Terms and Conditions

Legal basis, plainly stated: we process this information to perform or prepare a contract with your organization, to comply with our legal obligations as a distributor of regulated products, and for our legitimate interest in operating and improving the business.

5. Email and text messages

Email. If you request a quote or contact us, we will reply by email. We may also send occasional product and service updates. Every commercial email we send includes a working unsubscribe link and our physical mailing address. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly and in all cases within ten business days, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop transactional messages — quote confirmations, order and delivery notices, safety data sheets, and product safety communications — which we may still need to send you.

Text messages. We will only send you marketing or promotional text messages if you have given separate, express written consent by affirmatively checking a consent box specifically for text messages. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of purchasing anything from us, and it is never bundled into acceptance of our Terms and Conditions. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out; we will honor it promptly and in all cases within ten business days. Reply HELP for assistance.

Phone. We may call you about a quote, an order, or your account. If you ask us not to call, we will stop.

6. When we share information

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done either, and we do not intend to.

We share information only in these situations:

Payment processors and our bank	To process payment and reconcile accounts
Software and service providers	Website hosting, email delivery, form processing, accounting, and CRM — each bound to use the information only to provide services to us
Professional advisors	Our accountant, insurers, and attorneys, when reasonably needed
Government agencies	Where required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where necessary to report a product safety matter
A successor	If the business is sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction

We require our service providers to protect the information and use it only for the purpose we engaged them for. We do not authorize them to use it for their own marketing.

A note about public entity customers. If you are a city, county, school district, or other governmental body, records you send us may be subject to disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act when they are held by your organization. That is governed by your records policy, not ours. Separately, our own records of transactions with public entities may need to be produced in response to a public information request directed to you.

7. How long we keep information

Quote requests that do not become orders — up to 3 years, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back
Customer and order records — at least 7 years, for tax, warranty, and accounting purposes
Product traceability and safety records — as long as needed to support product safety, recall, and regulatory obligations
Training attendance records — at least 5 years
Email marketing lists — until you unsubscribe, plus a permanent suppression record so we do not accidentally re-add you
Website analytics — typically 26 months in aggregate form

Where a longer period is required by law, we keep the records for that longer period.

8. How we protect information

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted transmission of form submissions, access controls limiting who can see customer records, reputable hosting and software vendors, and routine software updates.

We will be straight with you: no method of transmitting or storing information is perfectly secure, and we are a small business, not a bank. Please do not send us sensitive personal or financial information by email or through Site forms.

9. Your choices and rights

Whether or not any particular privacy statute applies to us, we will honor the following requests from anyone who contacts us:

Know — ask what personal information we hold about you and how we use it
Access — get a copy of it
Correct — have inaccurate information fixed
Delete — have it deleted, subject to records we must keep for tax, warranty, safety, or legal reasons
Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing email, stop text messages, or ask us not to call
Portability — receive a copy in a portable, readily usable format where technically feasible

How to make a request. Email greg@gregthechemicalguy.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line, or call 214-906-5476. Tell us what you want and enough detail for us to find your records.

Our response. We will respond without undue delay and no later than 45 days after we receive your request. If we need more time, we will tell you within that first 45 days and may take up to 45 additional days. We provide this free of charge at least twice a year per person.

Verification. We will take reasonable steps to confirm you are who you say you are before acting on a request, usually by confirming details already in our records. We will not create new accounts or collect additional identifying information just to verify you.

If we say no. If we decline your request, we will tell you why in writing, and you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing greg@gregthechemicalguy.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will decide the appeal and give you a written explanation within 60 days of receiving it. If we deny the appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov/consumer-protection/file-consumer-complaint.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We will need reasonable proof that you authorized them.

No retaliation. We will not deny you products or services, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

10. Sensitive and biometric information

We do not collect, process, or sell sensitive personal data or biometric data. We do not knowingly collect information revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, physical or mental health diagnosis, sexual orientation, citizenship or immigration status, genetic or biometric data, or precise geolocation.

We recognize that some of our customers are religious organizations. The fact that your organization is a church is information about your organization, not sensitive personal data about you as an individual, and we treat it simply as a customer category that determines which product program fits your building.

11. Children's privacy

This Site is intended for businesses and government agencies and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We sell to childcare centers, preschools, and school districts. We do not collect, receive, or process any information about the children those facilities serve, and we do not want any. Our relationship is with the facility and its staff. Please do not send us student or child records, enrollment lists, or any information about individual children.

If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at greg@gregthechemicalguy.com and we will delete it.

12. Links to other sites

The Site links to government and standards resources — EPA, OSHA, CDC, Texas agencies — and to manufacturer pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them. We link to them because the underlying regulations and product labels are the authoritative sources, and you should be able to check us.

13. Where information is handled

We operate in the United States, and information you provide is stored and processed here. If you access the Site from outside the United States, understand that U.S. law will govern how the information is handled, and that it may differ from the law where you live.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you directly — normally by email to the address on your account.

We keep prior versions and will provide one on request.
