Is it safe to use around occupants?

The signal word is WARNING, and the two hazards are that it is harmful if swallowed and it may cause an allergic skin reaction. Wear gloves when you spray it, do not spray it toward people, and let the treated fabric dry before it is used again. Store it out of reach of children. It is low-VOC and biodegradable per the product page, but a skin sensitizer is still a skin sensitizer — do not spray it on clothing someone is wearing.

How is this different from a big-box fabric refresher?

Two things. It is oil-free, which is the whole point on carpet and upholstery — oil-carried deodorants leave a spot on the fibers they land on. And it works in two steps rather than one: it neutralizes the odor before it lays down the fragrance, so you are not just stacking a scent on top of a smell that comes back in an hour.

How much coverage do I get per case?

SHA-BRZ

What it's for

SHA-BRZ is a two-step odorant: it neutralizes the odor, then adds a fresh fragrance. There is no dilution and no mixing — you spray it on the textile or into the air and it works on contact. Per the product page it handles odors from smoke, decay, garbage, harsh chemicals, vomit, cooking and animals. The reason to carry it is what it is not: most fabric deodorants are oil-carried, and oil on carpet or a mattress means a spot. SHA-BRZ is water-based and oil-free, and Share states it removes trapped odors without staining when properly used.

NOTE SHA-BRZ is a deodorant, not a disinfectant or sanitizer — it neutralizes the odor molecules and adds fragrance. Nothing on the label, tech data sheet or SDS claims to kill or inhibit any bacteria, virus, fungus or mold; if a surface needs disinfecting, disinfect it first with a registered product and use SHA-BRZ afterward for the residual smell.

How to use it

Directions

1. Shake or invert the container before use.

2. Spray directly onto the odorous textile — carpet, upholstery, bedding, fabric, clothing or draperies — or spray into the air in the affected space.

3. Use sparingly. A small amount handles most odor problems; over-application is wasted product.

4. On a new fabric or a visible-face material, test an inconspicuous area first. The "without staining" claim is qualified with "when properly used."

5. Repeat as needed until the odor is gone. No rinsing or wiping is required.

No contact time is specified, because there is no kill claim. Spray and let it work — there is no wet-dwell requirement and no rinse. It is ready to use and must not be diluted. Label, verbatim: "SHA-BRZ is ready to use. Simply spray to instantly eliminate odors anywhere they're a problem. SHA-BRZ is extremely effective – a small amount is all that's needed for most of your tough odor problems."

SHA-BRZ is a deodorant, not a disinfectant, so it does not satisfy any sanitizing or disinfecting requirement and it carries no registration. Inspectors care about the disinfectant you use on hard surfaces. Use a registered product for that, and treat SHA-BRZ as a comfort product. Keep the SDS on site with the rest of your chemicals.
