D-S-D DISINFECTANT is a two-quat formula built for real soil. The builders and detergents do the cleaning while the quats do the killing, so you are not pre-cleaning and then disinfecting with two different products on routine work. It is approved for hospital use including operating rooms. It has two working dilutions that do different jobs: 0.5 oz per gallon is a hospital-grade disinfectant with a 10 minute contact time, and 1 oz per 5 gallons — 200 ppm active quat — is a food-contact sanitizer that needs no potable water rinse.

Dwell time — the number that matters

The label direction is "Allow to remain wet for 10 minutes, then remove excess liquid." Keep the surface visibly wet the whole time; re-apply if it dries early. Food-contact sanitizing is a minimum 60 seconds immersion at 200 ppm, or at least two minutes if your governing code requires it.

Directions
1. Pre-clean the surface. The mildewstat and sanitizer directions both specify pre-cleaned surfaces.
2. Mix the dilution for the job — 0.5 oz/gal to disinfect, 1 oz per 5 gal to sanitize food contact.
3. Apply by cloth, mop, sponge, coarse spray or immersion.
4. Disinfecting: allow to remain wet for 10 minutes, then remove excess liquid.
5. Food contact: immerse at least 60 seconds, then let drain and air dry. Do not rinse.
6. Toilets: add 0.5 oz to the bowl water, brush the surfaces, let stand 10 minutes.
7. Mix fresh sanitizing solution at least daily.
8. For blood or body fluid cleanup, wear disposable latex gloves, gown, mask and eye covering.

Neutral-pH disinfectant cleaner. D-S-D is alkaline and aggressive, which is what you want on restroom and kitchen soil. NU-QUAT is the one to reach for on finished floors and soft metals that alkalinity would dull.
Phenol-free, alcohol-free, bleach-free disinfectant wipes. D-S-D handles the mop-and-bucket work; wipes cover the desk, keyboard and handle where nobody is going to mix a bucket.
High-lather hand dishwashing liquid for baked-on grease. ORION does the wash step and D-S-D does the no-rinse 200 ppm sanitizer step at the three-compartment sink.
D-S-D is registered and is registered with NSF as an antimicrobial agent not requiring a rinse in food processing establishments (NSF, Category D2). Use it at 1 oz per 5 gallons, which is 200 ppm active quat, with a minimum 60 second immersion — or two minutes if your local code says so. Mix it fresh daily and keep test strips on hand, because inspectors check the ppm, not the bottle. The NSF letter dates to 2004 and the mark is not printed on the linked label PDF, so confirm the registration is current with Share Corp.
The concentrate is corrosive and the SDS classifies it as fatal if inhaled as a mist, so this is not a product to fog or fine-spray in an occupied room. Whoever mixes it needs goggles or a face shield, rubber gloves and protective clothing. The use-dilutions are far milder. Apply in unoccupied areas, keep surfaces wet for the 10 minutes, and let them air dry before people come back. Store it locked up.
Bleach loses strength in the jug, gasses off, corrodes metal and gets knocked out by organic soil. D-S-D is specifically tested against bacteria and viruses in the presence of 5% blood serum, so it keeps working on a surface that still has blood or body fluid on it — that is the case where bleach fails hardest. It also cleans, because it has detergents and builders, and it is a legal no-rinse food-contact sanitizer, which bleach is only at tightly controlled ppm. It is strongly alkaline, so keep it off surfaces that alkalinity harms and never let it meet an acid bowl cleaner.
At 0.5 oz per gallon, one gallon of concentrate makes 256 gallons of disinfecting solution. At the 200 ppm sanitizer rate of 1 oz per 5 gallons, one gallon makes 640 gallons of sanitizer. Share does not publish the case pack, so confirm gallons per case with your rep before costing it per case.

First aid
Eyes. Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes; remove contact lenses; continue rinsing; call a poison control center or doctor.
Skin. Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Rinse skin with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes; shower.
Ingestion. Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting unless told to. Immediately call a poison control center or doctor.
Inhalation. Move person to fresh air. If the person is not breathing, call 911. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.
Do not eat, drink or smoke when using. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Store in a dry, cool area, keep locked up, keep the container closed when not in use. This product is fatal if inhaled as a mist — use it with ventilation and avoid fine-mist spraying in enclosed spaces.
